Big Red Bus Club Toilet Refurbishment

The Big Red Bus Club has received funding from The Royal Borough of Greenwich to refurbish the children and adult disabled toilets at The Big Red Bus Club in Charlton park.

The budget and time scales are tight and work must take place and be completed in February in two weeks where we can close for half term. 

The toilets must be finished by the 19th February 2024. 

Please do not tender for this work unless you can complete it within this time frame.

Specification

To refurbish both the children’s and adult disabled toilets.

Disabled Toilet

Updating existing disabled toilet to a modern toilet 

1. Removal of existing disabled toilet and sanitaryware

2. Room insulated and plasterboarded 

3. Surface mounted electrics and pipework

4. Instillation of on demand (non tank) hot water to sink

5. Installation of new disabled compliant toilet and sanitary ware and associated grab rails

6. Tile with BRBC supplied tiles to ¾ 

7. Removal of door, trimming to fit and refitting

8. Refitting existing drop down baby changing table

9. Fitting toilet roll holder, tissue holder and soap holder

Children’s toilets

Conversion of existing two stall children’s toilet to a family toilet with adult and children’s toilet and a large baby changing bench and storage.

1. Removal of all existing sanitary ware and cubicles

2. Room insulated and plasterboarded 

3. Surface mounted electrics and pipework

4. Instillation of on demand (non tank) hot water to sink

5. Installation of New adult toilet and children’s toilet (BRBC Supplied)

6. Installation of sink at child level cold supply only

7. Tile with BRBC supplied tiles to ¾ 

8. Installation of a built in baby changing bench with under cupboard storage and built in sink with on demand hot water

9. Fitting 2 toilet roll holder,2 tissue holder and 2 soap holders

1. Removal and replacement of all new flooring for both toilets and hall floor like for like

Assumptions

The Big Red Bus Club will purchase the sanitaryware directly 

The Big Red Bus Club will purchase the on demand water heaters

The contractor will purchase all other materials and transport to site

The Big Red Bus Club is a tricky site with limited access - vehicles can be bought into the park with care and with a member of Big Red Bus CLub on site - otherwise parking is available in Charlton Park Car Park.

Payment will be staged with 10% payable upfront 40% on completion of first weeks work 40% on completion of Second week's work and 10% once work has been signed off by our CEO as completed.
