Why we are running

As with any challenge we always like to challenge our self's a little further and this year our team are doing just that.

Not only are some of our runners challenging themselves with the distance they are running, but they are all adding to that by raising funds for the Big Red Bus Club.

As our club grows we are discovering the need for more projects to offer our families who use the centre. While speaking to a lot of our mums, we discovered a big need for more post natal depression (PND) help after having children. So, we started researching and found that while there was help, there wasn't enough help.

Did you know that at least 1 in 10 women suffer from PND within a year of giving birth and for them, and their families, it is a tough thing to deal with. However with support it can be something that can be eased over time and can help families in the long run.

Our aim would be to raise enough money to start a Baby Blues Choir, where mums and babies can come and meet other mums in the same position. During these sessions they would all spend time as a group and would spend quality time singing with their babies. Why singing? Well it has been found that singing with your children can help increase improvements in depression and can help the whole family well-being.

As a charity our aim is to provide as many of our services as we can for free. Therefore any money raised from this challenge would go whole heartily to this project and to help as many mums as we can.

If you would like to help our runner achieve their target, please make your donations here.
