Play Plus gets money for mindfulness from the Postcode Lottery

Bear Hunt Play PlusThis term the Big Red Bus Club weekly stay and play for children and their families, Play Plus, has hit the jackpot. With a fantastic grant from the Postcode Lottery, volunteers and families at the Big Red Bus Club have been able to expand the whole group, get some great equipment for children with additional needs and work with a range of therapists to create a mindful and enriching environment.

Play Plus is here to support families with children under five, to make friends and get the support they need before, during and after diagnosis.

Each week sees a themed series of activities with special visitors including drama workshops, drummers, yoga and mindfulness workshops and even Felicity, The Therapy Dog.

To get involved you and your child don’t need a diagnosis or a referral just come along on Monday mornings (term time only) from 10-12pm at the Big Red Bus Club, Charlton Park, by the Cemetery Lane Entrance.

“Play Plus is great for me and the kids love it. Since the Postcode Lottery has been involved we’ve had some great toys that the boys love and help them with their needs. We will be here every week.” Tracy Selby with Dylan and Jacob

It was so lovely to come into the group and see the children taking part in fun activities. I am so grateful to the Postcode Lottery for their funding, I can see how much it means to the children and their families.  As a former Midwife I know how important the early years and family involvement is.  Sarah Smith, Chair
