Local Charlton councillors Allan McCarthy and Miranda Williams breathed a huge sigh of relief when they found out from Santa that they were on this year’s nice list.
Both councillors met Santa when he visited the Big Red Bus Club Winter Fair in Charlton Park. The local charity, which is raising money to replace its windows, holds daily play and stay sessions for under-fives and their families every weekday.
Santa meet lots of local children and gave many presents and stickers before turning his attention to the local politicians.
Santa said, “Although I am busy this time of year, I can always make a little time to share the magic of Christmas with the Big Red Bus Club. I was also very pleased to see Miranda and Allan on this year’s nice list as they both have spent time on the naughty list.”
Local Resident Simon Peirce, who popped out when Santa visited, commented "The Big Red Bus Club has had a fantastic year, installing new lighting and heating with donations from local people and the Greenwich Lions Club. An amazing achievement. I wish them all the best for next year".
