A group run

After all the snow last week, it was really nice to see the group back together again. We all admitted we had missed our Thursday morning session, when we were comparing notes about our week just gone.

While we warmed up the sun kept peeking through the clouds, but didn't quite make an appearance. That wasn't going to stop us though, we had our trainers on and we were ready to run.

The session planned for the morning was called an out and back and is always a good way to see how far we have come. It is a lovely session which I always find makes the competitive side of a person come out (even if you think you don't have one). During this run, we leave club and head out onto the streets to see how far we can go in a certain time frame. The aim is to go further each time you do it and return in the same time as it took you to go out.

This term we are up to 15 minutes out and in 15 minutes back. It is amazing to think on our first session we started this at 10 minutes each way and we are now up to 30 minutes in total. The ladies have done so so well and I am so very proud of them.

It just goes to show that with a little bit of grit and determination you can achieve anything.
